Ego and Work

Ego and Work

Never ever underestimate anyone in your life. Ego plays its role when you start underestimating your co-workers or team members based on their experience, position in the team and skill set. Ego does not believe in team work. Ego says, I control my team and I won’t let anyone else to come forward. Ego also has insecurity that he or she may come up with better idea than me. Sometime ego is at powerful position and you see no choice. Your professional life can be a big chaos In case your ego starts playing against ego who posses more power.

A new team member joins the team and ego of one of the old team members starts recognizing to use that person to get his or her work done but after few days he or she found that the new comer is a fast learner and picking up things very quickly. Ego starts playing games to create more issues and challenges in the job for new member. If that does not work out then EGO may loose patience and become offensive and violent.

I am not sure if you are aware of the word “corporate politics”. People play games to get more power, job security and prove that others are wrong .Ego is main player this game.

Ego does not care to listen to others and always try to impose his or her rules. Ego says you have no choice or I won’t give you any choice. I will make rules and you have to follow it. The best thing for real you is to accept your current situation and start accepting that you have more choices. You may be thinking to change your work but the problem is you may find same circumstance at new place. Try to make choices in the positive direction which is based love and peace. Look at positive side of criticism or being getting picked by your coworkers. There is always learning behind every comment they make or you make for others.
